Abstract

The article reads about the analysis of neutrophils functional condition and malondialdehyde level in peripheral blood plasma and erythrocytes in basketball players and swimmers at various stages of a year cycle. The authors have established that neutrophils functional conditions in sportsmen at the age of 18–21 years signifi-cantly differs from those of people not connected with sports. Even though the activity of basic bactericidal systems in basketball players’ organism is significantly high during all periods of a year cycle; the activity of the enzymes defining completeness of phagocytosis is sharply decreased in the preparatory and regenerative periods and slightly increases in the competitive period. As for swimmers, the activity of all studied enzymes and the level of cationic proteins are decreased or at control level dur-ing all the stages of a cycle.

Key words

neutrophils, lipoperoxidation, the periods of a year training cycle.
